What I'm All About

My name is Rhoda. I am from and live in sunny Tampa, Florida, also known as Cigar City. As a Tampa native, I love the rich history the Cigar City has to offer. From downtown to the South Shore to the festive streets of Ybor City, vestiges of its past still remain. I feel Tampa's Cigar City attitude thrives and enamores old and new alike. 

For me, reading tarot for natives and visitors alike keeps many of the traditions of Cigar City alive. From “consejera spiritual” to “lectores de tarot”, I am never far from these roots, and let it be known that I often enjoy an Ybor smoke during Gasparilla and Halloween, keeping in line with my tarot reading motto..."Like a fine cigar...complex, smooth, dark at times, but well worth the read.".

  I’ve been interested and dabbled in tarot on and off since the mid 1970’s when I bought my first tarot deck at 13…somewhere in downtown Nashville, TN in an obscure curio shop near the Grand Ole Opry. 

My parents were okay with this. So, I practiced and played with those cards for a few years. Then, life got in the way…I graduated high school, college and graduate school with practical degrees and an analytical approach to the rest of my life…my old cards were put away and forgotten until I met someone who reconnected me to them. She said she was a “reader”. So, I gifted those old cards to her…

Later, I once asked if she still had them. She said she did, but they were evil, and she never used them! Hmmm…now, although I felt Ouija boards could be a bit "iffy", I never thought that way about my cards.

Fast forward 50 years, and the tarot came calling after me and in a very loud way! Although it has been a literal lifetime since my first deck and experiences, I’ve rekindled my love for all things spiritual, including my cards. So, here I am dusting off the cobwebs as I tune back into my intuition.

In reconnecting, I have focused on both formal study (Biddy Tarot Advisor certified and working on #2) and all out practice on anyone who wanted a reading or to just chat about all things cards – tarot, oracle, or Lenormand. In the past few years, I have learned and re-learned many things about my cards and myself.

My reading style is consultative. The cards are a way to help shed light on situations and suggest possible courses of action. We all have free will, and the energies surrounding our focus or issue or problem continually change. I believe the cards offer a breadth of view guiding us to a potential path forward. 

I enjoy face-to-face readings the most, but much of my practice is remote via email, pre-recorded private videos or by live Zoom/Skype sessions. I focus on readings that give insights into my clients’ life journeys. I believe tarot can bring clarity by looking at things in multiple ways…taking off the blinders, if you will. So, I read on many topics, including for your beloved fur babies. I've even been known to give "homework"!

Fun fact: I LOVE true crime, and I’m a part of a group of talented tarot-reading ladies who meet weekly to read on [solved] true crime stories! It’s a fun way to hone intuition skills in a totally true crime way!
